Mass AJHL score catchup - Jan 29th - Feb 6th

Holy crap... am I that far behind?!? This is ridiculous... but it ends NOW...

I've got to start somewhere... and to do so am unfortunately going to have to make cutbacks... so, many many apologies, but I again will be cutting the game summaries to just post all the AJ scores from this crazy lengthy time it's been since I last managed a full league update...

Anyways, all the scores... from the last... week or so (Grr... that sounds pathetic on my part... but too much off-work BS of late! Some good off work stuff though.... it suddenly hasn't been all bad... haha!)... ah heck, we'll see how I feel... maybe I will post ultra-fast summaries...

Okay... I've resigned to the fact I'm not gonna get this posted NOW (4:45pm Feb 8th) unless I cut the short summaries... apologies... but you'll notice where I left off...

Jan 29th - wow, every game went over 60mins (I just re-realized I had started a 29th post but re-drafted it... this is from it):
  1.  Grande Prairie beat the Saints 2-1 in OT in Spruce Grove. I ended up catching most of the game in between loads of other stuff and a GP Kings home game tonight Wednesday, but wow... didn't think the Saints outshot anywhere near this heavy (38-24 - outshot heavy in all periods but OT, where the Storm were 1-0 and got the only shot of OT that mattered)! I've tweeted the Saints/Storm/Jeff Henson about this... so will see who replies first, about this sheet... am almost 100% Storm AP D #6 Allan MacPherson didn't play, but I could be mistaken. I'm just about certain Jeff didn't mention him on the pre-game. Game winner in OT went to RW #9 Gus Correale.
  2. Eagles beat Mustangs 3-2, also in OT, in Canmore. Wow, relatively close first & 3rd periods with slight shots advantages to each team in those periods, but yikes... Mustangs had a shooting gallery going in the 2nd, outshooting 22-7. Wow, another impressive stat - Eagles went 2/3 on the PP, and the game winner in OT by F #21 Bryan Arneson (who also had a 3 point game with 2G, 1A) was one of their 2 PP goals of the game. G #35 Ty Swabb with a very well deserved home star, with a 50/52 save performance. Another huge stat of the game, Mustangs RW #18 (he's listed by league as #25, but on tonight's game sheet he's #18 - a little strange... perhaps it was 'jersey beyond repair' jersey change like that of Grande Prairie Kings' C #27, formerly #16, Lyndin Lewis, for tonight's NWJHL game at the Coca-Cola Centre in GP)... anyways Mustangs RW #18 Blair Wentworth with a whopping 27PIM.
  3. Whitecourt beat the Pontiacs 5-4 in SO in Bonnyville. Overall, close game in shots - the 1st & OT close, then Bonnyville with big lead in 2nd & Whitecourt with big lead in 3rd. Very strange thing I'm noticing about attendances... Bonnyville with 6300+ people draws 566 in this game. Spruce Grove with over 31,000 people and only had I believe 330 some for game Wednesday hosting Storm. Sure it's close to Edmonton, but the lack of fans for the 1st place team in the north, is truly baffling to me! Whoa, Pontiacs went 3/9 on the PP - not too shabby! Wolverines LW #15 Mathieu Guertin with the SO winner. Somewhat surprisingly, no player with 3 points and/or 20PIM in the game.
Jan 30th:
  1. Camrose beat the Canucks 6-2 at the Max Bell Centre in SE Calgary. Kodiaks LW #18 Tanner Tyndall was the lone 3 point player (1G, 2A), and no player cleared 20PIM.
  2. Dragons beat Okotoks 6-3 in Drumheller. Drumheller outshot heavily (49-22). Surprisingly no 3 point players, but 3 players with 17PIM in the game - though no one over 20mins.
  3. Oil Barons beat Sherwood Park 4-3 in a SO in #OldFortMcMurray (RM of Wood Buffalo). No 3 point players, no 20 PIM players, but MOB LW #24 Jetlan Houcher with the SO winner.
  4. Bobcats beat Whitecourt 4-2 in Lloydminster. No 3 point players, no 20PIM players.
Feb 1st:
  1. Sherwood Park beat the Saints 3-0 in Spruce Grove. No 3 point players, and no 20+ PIM players either. G #31 Matt Tomkins with the Cru shutout, and of note - Saints backup G, for the game, #31 Nathan Park went perfect in his playing stopping all 15 shots he faced.
  2. Brooks beat the Bobcats 4-2 in Lloydminster. Bandits RW #15 Cam Maclise had 3 points (1G, 2A), and no 20+PIM players.
  3. Storm beat Fort McMurray 2-1 in a SO here in GP (though I was in Fairview that night with the Kings). Uhh... not sure what in the heck our updater was thinking... but, I'm certain there was MORE than 2 people at the game... but... yeah! Haha! No 3 point players, no 20PIM ones either. Storm #17 LW/RW Ryan Matthews with the SO winner.
  4. Thunder beat Bonnyville 4-0 in Drayton Valley. Hmm... according to this game sheet... no one attended... um... hehe! No player with 3 points, nor 20PIM. Thunder G #1 Mac Olivier Daigle with the shutout, and though he only played the last 5:43, Pontiacs backup G #35 Tyler Santos stopped all 5 he faced.
  5. Kodiaks beat Canmore 6-2 in Camrose. Yikes... Camrose outshot badly (32-17). Kodiaks C #19 Tanner MacMaster (2G, 1A) & F #16 Connor Mailey (3A) both had 3 points.
Feb 2nd:
  1. Fort McMurray beat the Saints 3-2 in OT in Spruce Grove. No 3 point players, no 20+ PIM guys. C #9 Mike Marianchuk had the OT winner.
  2. Canucks beat the Mustangs 3-1 at the Max Bell Centre in SE Calgary. Mustangs with nearly twice the shots of the Canucks (34-19), but Canucks come out on top in the end. No 3 point players, nor 20+PIM guys.
  3. Crusaders beat the Bandits 3-2 in OT in in Sherwood Park. Cru C #20 Bowen Croft with a 3 point game (1G, 2A), but no players over 20+ PIM. Cru LD #17 Josh Healey with the OT winner.
  4. Oilers beat Drumheller 4-2 in Okotoks. In a game massively, nearly doubly, outshot by the Dragons (49-26), in just under 10 minutes of game time in the 1st & 2nd, Oilers C #12 Chris Collins scored a natural hat trick (3G total on the night also) - and was rewarded as home start of the game for his efforts. Oilers RD #4 Jordan Swenson led the game with points on all 4 Oilers' Gs (1G, 3A). Though no one made 20+ PIM, Dragons D #7 Brad Deagle had 19PIM.
  5. Bonnyville beat Storm 2-1 here in Grande Prairie. Shots even at 31, no 3 points players, no 20 or more PIM players. Pontiacs' C #10 Marc Dubeau with unassisted game winner.
  6. Wolverines beat Lloydminster 6-1 in Whitecourt. PIM galore, but somehow no one with more then 14 (achieved by 3 players total from both teams). Somehow no Wolverines' skater had over 2 points either.
  7. Kodiaks beat Canmore 5-1 on the 2nd of back-to-back games in Camrose. Unfortunately for the Eagles, this bare a striking rebalanced to the game the night before, which again was one-sided in shots by the Kodiaks (41-21). No 3 point players, 4 with 15PIM & 1 with 17PIM (Canmore LD #27 Ashton McLeod).
Feb 3rd:
  1.  Mustangs beat Canucks 8-2 at Father David Bauer Arena in NW Calgary. No 20PIM guys, but a multiple amount of 3+ points players for the Mustangs: RW #27 Chase McMurphy (3G, 1A) & F #21 David Norris (2G, 2A) were the lone 4 point players, F #22 Josh Clark (2G, 2A), F #18 Jamie King (2G, 2A), F #8 Joe Serpico (3A) & F/D #9 Joe Colborne - who I obviously need to add pasts stats for - (3A) all with 3 points.
 Feb 5th:
  1. Drumheller beat the Eagles 5-0 in Canmore.
  2. Oilers beat Brooks 3-2 in Okotoks.
  3. Camrose beat the Mustangs 4-3 at Father David Bauer Arena in NW Calgary.
  4. Thunder beat the Saints 1-0 in Spruce Grove.
Feb 6th:
  1. Storm hammered the Grizzlys 7-1 in Olds.
  2. Lloydminster @ Oil Barons in #OldFortMcMurray as I call it (RM of Wood Buffalo) cancelled due to fatal accident on Highway 881 between Anzac & Conklin I believe, that the Bobcats got caught behind. The highway ended up being closed all night from what I heard.

And that is all for this post. I need to post this and boogie to find a ride to Sexsmith (Vipers) for Grande Prairie Kings game there tonight at 8pm
