WHL post wont happen now... (WHL site issues)

I was going to post all the WHL related moves not yet covered on EP, through the WHL Weekly Report posts, but for some reason it and a lot of functions/pages of the WHL page aren't currently working... strangely, it's a multi-browser thing, so it must be a site error or maybe 'planned down time' during holidays. Not too sure... but, the WHL post wont be happening now.

Some of you may know (if you saw the first blog post) that I no longer actually update the WHL, so usually my posts on the league are only 'Weekly Report' related, or those involving the AJHL.

Onto the OJHL mass catchup though... that will be a novel of a catchup entry...

Definite final AJHL post of 2012

Wow... definitely never would of thought I could be away from blog posts for 4 days, but hey it happened! I guess I got a good unintentional break the last few days, but I've really got to start taking advantage of this final week off before it is totally over!

Anyways, brief notes I've come across, listed on a sticky note here in front of me (besides the final 2 bits):

Okotoks:
*C #25 Tanner Ockey was carded and added for rest of season, from Calgary Royals Midget AAA (AMHL), but is out 3-6wks with lower body injury, per Gino De Paoli Twitter Direct Message to me (as of the 19th, therefore: Lower body injury, expected back Jan 9th-30th). He had 12 points (6G, 6A) in his 18 AMHL games this season, along with 10 PIMs.
*He, Gino, also told me that Kyle Krabben was a healthy scratch their 2nd last game and played their final game of the season.

Olds:
*D #5 Connor Bass, normally a D, played F for the final AJHL game of the 2012 season last Sunday, per Galen Hartviksen per radio broadcast of game I tuned into online.

Whitecourt:
*Per that same Wolverines stats updater via Twitter DM's that I mentioned in the 21st-23rd posts - currently unlisted callup for that game, as the 18th skater (as he doesn't have ability to add new players to roster, only coaching staff does from what he told me); LW Jacob Schofield, wore #5 and from a later DM from the Wolverines stats updater, Schofield had no recorded points or penalty minutes in that game. Hopefully the coaching staff will get to adding him onto the game sheet/roster/stats though, to give him credit for the game played/callup on the AJHL website - but for now, he at least is getting that credit on EP.

***Possible free agent RW Jayden Hart (probably already carded) - who is a former AJHL one-gamer (Spruce Grove Saints in 2010-11) likely coming [back] to the AJHL. From a very trusted reliable source of mine, Hart has left the Medicine Hat Tigers and returned home to Spruce Grove. He played that one game in  2010-11 as what should have been an AP (it's not marked on that profile, but as he played Midget AAA with the AMHL's St. Albert Raiders for all but that game, and two with the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers - one can presume he was AP). So because of that, no guarantee he's signed/carded by the Saints, but as he's from Spruce Grove - one can only guess he'll likely make a 2013 AJHL debut with the Saints.

Also, though he never did play in the AJHL - G Liam Liston, from St. Albert, has retired from the Vancouver Giants. I first found out Boxing Day from a tweet from reporter Steve Ewen, which was retweeted late that night by Liston himself, and confirmed in a media release by the Giants the following day. The same source as above, said Liston has indicated plans to attend the U of A, but I'm not 100% sure if it means student or student/athlete for the Golden Bears - though have added it as a possible rumour onto EP for now.

And that's all for the AJ in 2012. Now, here's REALLY hoping I'll get done a whole heck of a lot of catchup in the last week off, out of GP til the Storm are back playing at least... oh crud, I knew there was at least a game on Thursday the 3rd, but turns out there's only 1 game on the previous day (Wednesday, then 2nd), then 2 on Thursday, then likely all the other teams that didn't get back playing Wednesday and Thursday will be back by Friday's game and almost certainly Saturday's.

AJHL combined Dec 21-23 post pt. 2

Sorry everyone, but pt. 1 had to become a split version of the original attempted post. I am literally falling asleep at the computer... eyes are so hazy I can barely type right now, and am yawning profusely... so this will be 'to be continued', unfortunately, tomorrow!
- - - - -
Okay, so here goes part 2... a little later than planned as I really slept in for Xmas Eve.. haha! Here goes though...

Drumheller - they have been off since Thursday, but...
*3rd stringer & recent backup G #31 Garrett Storms, was back with KC Colts Midget AA (NAMHL) for game Saturday.

Fort McMurray:
*RW #17 Adam Wilcox, according to a Friday tweet from Tyler King/Kinger, responding to an inquiry on Wilcox' status, was "ill" that night and did not play for the MOB. Not exactly sure about what sort of illness, or if it's just a day-to-day thing, but unless/until I find out more, I've listed it as "Illness, status uncertain" - for the time being. Anyways - he played Thursday, missed Friday, and was back to play Saturday's game... yikes 3 straight game nights would be tiring!

Grande Prairie:
*LW/C #29 Mike Forsyth - served "Two game suspension for check from behind on Canmore D John Stevens Dec 19th, eligible to return Jan 4th" and even though there's no games til Jan I may as well take it down. Regarding RD #4 Stevens, from a tweet I received that night, Stevens sounded alright but had a 'black eye' - so good to hear there, and he ended up not missing any games playing again for Canmore Thursday.
*LD #6 Allan MacPherson, back playing with Calgary Flames Midget AAA (AMHL) on Saturday.
*C/LW #26 Chase Thudium, younger brother of current Storm regular W #21 Dylan Thudium, scored his first career AJHL goal in 2nd game on Saturday. His Red Deer Chiefs Midget AAA (AMHL) team has been off since Thursday, so to me/what I have listed on EP - he is still unofficially on the Storm roster over the holidays.

Lloydminster:
*Must have missed posting it, but G #1 Joey Desrosiers has been back with Leduc Oil Kings Midget AAA (AMHL) since last Sunday, the 16th.
*C #19 Ryley Wozniak... I'm not 100% on it, but am just about certain he was kept on the active AJ Bobcats stats/roster since going back and playing for St. Paul Canadiens (NEAJBHL Jr B) for the 14th & 19th, so for that reason alone I'm going to leave him as is on EP (active w/St. Paul) and not bother with a recall that likely didn't actually happen since playing there on the 14th.

Okotoks:
*LD #3 Kyle Krabben is still listed as injured on AJ Oilers stats/roster, but played in their last 2012 game Friday.
*Absolutely no idea about what is going on with C #25 Tanner Ockey. As seen on a previous post, Ockey appeared to be recalled Dec 7th as he was added to the Oilers active stats/roster (as I screenshot there). He then played for the Oilers on the 8th & 11th and hasn't played with the Oilers or Calgary Royals Midget AAA (AMHL) he was recalled from, either/since. He's not listed with an AP on the Oilers roster, so it appears he was still up with the Oilers but either hurt (and it didn't get added/listed) or he's been a healthy scratch for them since.

Olds:
*D #25 Cale Brown recalled from Mountainview Colts (HJHL) to play Friday (wearing the same #24 he did in earlier callup) and Saturday (wearing #25).
*D/LW #26 Chaydan Lauber recalled from Southeast Tigers Minor Midget AAA (AMMHL) for game today for Grizzlys and playing.

Sherwood Park:
*LD #26 Tyler Dea, back playing with St. Albert Raiders Midget AAA (AMHL) on Saturday.

Spruce Grove:
*RD #4 Graydon Smith, I must have missed before, has been down with Leduc Oil Kings Midget AAA (AMHL) since last Sunday, the 16th.
*LW #14 (formerly #25) Kevin Yasinski, recalled & played Saturday for Saints. From Grande Prairie Storm Midget AAA (AMHL).
*Another #4, LD Connor James, was recalled & played Saturday for Saints as well, but was back with Lloydminster Bobcats Midget AAA (AMHL) for game Sunday.

Whitecourt:
*LD/C #55 Mathieu Gagnon has returned to the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) as of game on Friday. Looks like that creates another vacancy in assistant captains now, as I believe C #19 Jerome Raymond is captain and the only 'official' A left now is recently named (on the 14th) D #6 Dalton Olsen. As it stands, Gagnon currently has a 66PIM lead for most in the league (with 259mins), with 4 less games played than next nearest - Olds F #9 Dylan Hubbs (with 193mins) - with about 20 games left, I can definitely see Hubbs taking that 'title' over.
*LW #17 Jacques Bernier, was back playing with CAC Edmonton Canadians Midget AAA (AMHL) for game Sunday.
*According to tweets from an updater for the Wolverines - only the coaching staff has the ability to add new players on the AJHL Wolverines roster, or he would have already added currently #-less C Charles Inglis to their AJ stats/roster page.
*Also according to same updater, the Wolverines 18th player Friday night was currently unknown #'d LW Jacob Schofield, but as I said above - only the coaching staff have the ability to add players, so this updater was unable to add him to the Wolverines game sheet for that game as of yet.
*According to a tweet from the Wolverines, their new assistant captain (with departures of former captain C #16 Jamie Johnson, and assistant captain LD/C #55 Mathieu Gagnon) is LD #24 Matthew Abt.

And that concludes my likely final AJHL update for 2012.

Happy holidays to you & yours - and it will 'back to our regularly scheduled programming' here for me, January 3rd, 2013!

AJHL combined Dec 21-23 post, pt. 1

***Part 2 to be continued/edited in & updated after some well needed sleep... sorry again, but I am literally falling asleep at the computer... eyes are so hazy I can barely type right now, and am yawning profusely... to be continued, unfortunately!

AJHL Standings & Injuries, going into the break (the later will be updated by the time this post is fully complete).
*Note on out of date map - a new map has been completed by our EP photo admin, but is awaiting our site founder/manager/head/'boss-man'... hehe... in Sweden, to upload it in which will hopefully be shortly, maybe even before I fully complete this post.

I had multi-sentence to paragraph long game summaries here (below), but while out of the room my Grandma went on her computer (am on her desktop, a just about exact replica of my desktop, typing here since Monday when coming up to visit/stay with her for the holidays) and though I told her/thought she knew not to close what I had open, she unintentionally closedmy Chrome tabs on the bottom half of the screen in a split screen, which included my blog that for some dang reason, I forgot to save before leaving the room. At the same time - it is HER computer too hey... hehe! I didn't think I'd be out/away long enough to worry though... anyways, short story long... since it's super late, I'm behind as is, and lost a few hours of work (in between mega-distractions from a rambunctious/hyper kitten)... and really, I'm pretty sure people are viewing the blog more for player moves than the summaries anyhow... so reluctantly, I will improvise this massively overdue blog post, and just list the scores and game links below, then the moves/changes, and then finally take it easy (well... in between trying to catchup on other EP updates and emails) at least for tonight, and then semi-will until the 3rd, at least on the AJHL end! This post has been so delayed, it's not even near funny anymore... and I absolutely MUST complete the changes/moves tonight - no more delays!

Friday Dec 21st scores:
  1. Grande Prairie beat Oilers 5-2 in Okotoks.
  2. Bandits beat Lloydminster 5-2 in Brooks.
  3. Wolverines beat Sherwood Park 5-3 in Whitecourt.
  4. Thunder beat Bonnyville 3-1 in Drayton Valley.
  5. Kodiaks beat Fort McMurray 5-4 in OT in Camrose.
Saturday Dec 22nd scores:
  1. Fort McMurray beat the Saints 2-1 in OT in Spruce Grove.
  2. Lloydminster beat the Calgary Canucks 4-3 in OT at the Max Bell Centre in SE CGY.
  3. Kodiaks beat Olds 4-1 in Camrose.
  4. Grande Prairie beat Calgary Mustangs 5-2 at Father David Bauer Arena in NW CGY.
  5. Thunder beat Bonnyville 4-3 in OT in Drayton Valley.
Sunday Dec 23rd score:

  1. Lloydminster beat the Grizzlys 5-4 in Olds. [I typed this in the afternoon after the game, the rest of most of the post was done late afternoon to evening] Wow, that was quite a game to listen to, especially the 3rd! 2-2 after the 1st, 4-3 Grizzlys after 2, and 2 Bobcat goals in the 3rd - the last from C #11 Braden Crone, to win it about midway thru the 3rd. Hugh effort by the Grizzlys to tie it late, and though I wasn't really routing one way or the other, I was kind of hoping the Grizzlys could tie it to see/hear what an OT would be like there! Unfortunately for them, it did not happen, and they go into the break on an 8 game losing streak. Yikes, only won 1 game (of 12) in all December, a 3-2 SO win over Bonnyville December 6th.
- - - - -
League wide changes/moves (unlike my usual listing by order on schedule, since this is a comprehensive update - it's alphabetical by team):

Bonnyville:
*C #7 Dallas Ansell, was back with Cold Lake Ice (NEAJBHL - Jr B) as of game on the 19th. He just so happened to score a season high 8 points (4G, 4A) in their 16-3 win over St. Paul Canadiens, and had 2 7-point games previously. Unless he's playing for his hometown team by choice or something (which definitely is possible), I have to wonder how in the heck a guy averaging over 3 points/game in Jr B is not in the AJHL!
*LW #17 Connor Garden, was back from "Lower body injury, day-to-day" to play in game Friday.
*The definitely-really-not-traded, C #16 Travis Wellman, also returned to the Pontiacs lineup Friday from an "Upper body injury, day-to-day".

Brooks -Whoa, injury related changes galore on this team (sure it's only 3 changes, but the Bandits had next to no injuries until late)!
*LW #13 Anthony Petruzzelli, out 2-4 weeks with an upper body injury, backdated to Dec 18th.
*LD #7 Shane Pilling - same length out, same backdated date of injury, but he's got a lower body injury.
*LW #14 Nick Newman, returned early from "Upper body injury, expected back December 29th - January 12th", to play Friday.
*LD #25 Brett Schimmel, played again for the Bandits Friday, then was back with the Southeast Tigers Midget AAA (AMHL) team Saturday.
*C #16 Landon Welykholowa (surprisingly easy to spell/type for me)... was, back up & played with the Bandits on Friday, back down and played with Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL) Saturday.

Calgary Canucks - this will likely take a while, as Canucks still have 9 regulars out...
*LW #25 Keith Csizmadia, now listed as out indefinitely with a broken thumb, backdated to the 18th.
*LW #23 Joel Rogers, still listed as injured on AJHL Canucks stats/roster now, but played Saturday.
*RD #6 Deryk Sutherland & D # 34 Zach Dietrich, back playing with Calgary Northstars Midget AAA (AMHL) Saturday.
*RD #7 Owen Johnson, back playing with Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL) on Saturday.
*RD/F #40 Erik Kardash, back playing with Calgary Flames Midget AAA (AMHL) on Saturday.

Calgary Mustangs - no known changes... nice! One 'easy' team to help speed this along a bit!

Camrose:
*F #8 Ryker Leer, was up playing Saturday, from Red Deer Chiefs Midget AAA (AMHL).
*LW/D #22 Nick Harder, back playing with Sherwood Park Kings Midget AAA (AMHL) Friday.
*RD #5 Quinn Brown, back playing with Red Deer Chiefs Midget AAA (AMHL) Thursday.
*C #27 Taylor Allan, back playing with Calgary Royals Midget AAA (AMHL) Saturday.

Canmore:
*RW #7 Chance Thomas, back playing with KC Colts Midget AA (NAMHL) for game Saturday, though I was told he was back in Edmonton/with team sooner (but didn't dress in the team's last previous game Dec 16th).

Drayton Valley:
*G #31 Wyatt Dewan, back playing with St. Paul Canadiens (NEAJBHL Jr B) on the 19th. He was on the receiving end of part of the 8 point game mentioned above by Bonnyville's player Dallas Ansell, and in net for 10 of 16 goals allowed in 2 periods, by the Canadiens in that 16-3 loss.

Part 2 to be continued/edited in & updated after some well needed sleep... sorry again, but I am literally falling asleep at the computer... eyes are so hazy I can barely type right now, and am yawning profusely... to be continued, unfortunately!

It's also come to my attention that I've sometimes been coming off as extremely negative on the blog and such of the AJHL stat updaters, and I definitely haven't intended that - I kind of got caught up in the moment I guess you could say. Been in touch with what sounds like the main updater in Whitecourt, and his respectable approach about some of my past posts really kind of 'woke me up' a bit about it. So my apologies about the negativity there - am a bit of a perfectionist with things and notice the 'small things' a lot, so it probably came from that. Definitely appreciate the work of the AJHL volunteers (I'm one myself) and their efforts in keeping up the league as best as they can. So, I guess a person could call it one of those 'resolution' things - will definitely try to get rid of that. I'm really a very nice, positive, outgoing guy offline and will try to show that with a bit more understanding on things, here in the future.

- - - - -
*** Note to players & team staff members: I've recently been granted photo privileges on EP and have yet to use them, but plan to use them immensely in the coming... well, indefinite time frame. So if any of you have pictures we can use of yourself, teammates, staff, arenas etc. and you have permission for them to be used by those in the pictures and the photographers (email from them, necessary) and they're not copyrighted elsewhere - feel free to contact me to get you hooked up, as well!

- - - - -
*** Also, if anyone notices anything especially AJHL related, but even site related on EP, that is out of date or you may have additional information: I encourage you to [nicely] give me heck, or contact me and I'll try to find it up ASAP!

AJHL update(s) postponed til after final game of 2012

Hey again loyal viewers... I absolutely hate to do this yet again, but it's already after 3:30am 5:53am and I've made next to nothing for progress on AJHL update for Dec 21st-22nd. Because of that, I've [extremely] reluctantly decided (as well... if any of you out there reading my blog out there haven't noticed - I am an extreme workaholic if I love what I'm doing - and the work on Elite Prospects, here on my blog, and in the press box with the GP Storm definitely fits the bill!)... to again postpone my update until after the final 2012 game tomorrow at 1pm local in Olds between the Lloydminster Bobcats and the Grizzlies. I'm also going to try to listen to the game tomorrow [on the internet] on 96.5 CKFM in Olds, from Olds play-by-play Galen Hartviksen & colour guy Jamieson Brown - it will be the first AJHL game (as far as I know) in memory I will get to listening to, not done by Jeff Henson (though I've heard Robb Hunter plenty of times on The AJHL This Week with Jeff, and I basically heard the whole Wolverines broadcast from Chris Colwill (who hasn't seemed to use his Twitter since moving to Whitecourt) once or twice this season as I was standing next to him doing the Storm PPV at least once when the Wolverines were in town... haha!).

Anyways, I desperately need to go to bed so I can even be awake for that game this (tomorrow to me, as I haven't slept yet) afternoon.

Before I forget, as I tweeted earlier:

...then...

If anyone can help me out, maybe retweet me if they so please - I'd definitely appreciate it and thank you when I can! Thanks in advance though, for now!

Edit: Also as I've been kind of quoting myself on this all over the net lately - to all you reading this or mentioned/quoted/labeled in the last 2 tweets especially: "Happy holidays, and all that good stuff" to you & yours!

And now... FINALLY to sleep tonight... yeesh, up this late and I barely got anything accomplished today... absolutely hate it, but I am fairly sick still, so I'll let it slide and not 'kick myself in the rear' too hard for it.

Whitecourt Wolverines add C Charles Inglis & other team notes

Just a brief tidbit before my 'other' nearly completed blog post explaining my lack of a HUGE AJHL update today (Sorry! Definitely not intentional!)... this went unnoticed by pretty much sickly 'absentee me' of the last few days, and the entire community on the AJHL Hockey Talk forum... but:

As first tweeted by Tyler King/Kinger on the 19th and confirmed by the Wolverines on the 20th, the Wolverines have added former 60 point WHL scorer, C Charles Inglis (as also tweeted by Kinger),  to the team. He's yet to be added on the AJHL's Wolverines stats/roster as of now (4:36am MST - first screenshot below) though neither has LD #4 Landon Hall yet (who's been playing every game since signing as far as I know) nor RD/F #9 Michael Claffey (though he was listed as an AP from and may have been reassigned back to the Spruce Grove Regals of the CapJHL but as I am a few days behind I haven't got to checking yet and will wait til tomorrow now, but he's yet to play with the Regals as of now, 5:21am Dec 23rd, since being signed by the Wolverines on the 13th), let alone added to the AJHL system with a profile (also as of now).
As a person may also notice, I've yet to get the Wolverines stats after that game updated onto EP, mainly due to my recent sickness and other stuff (discussed in soon to be posted, post).

He's also not listed on the current game sheet from Friday's game between the Sherwood Park Crusaders and the Wolverines in Whitecourt, though strangely there's only 17 skaters listed on the Wolverines roster on the very same game sheet... and to me it seems awfully strange for a team to only play 17 skaters after announcing adding a guy the day before... no??? (though as it MAY get updated, I've included a screenshot to show this below).
I have absolutely nothing against the Wolverines (as I posted somewhere to the same effect, I also praised their facility there - the Scott Safety Centre - awesome restaurant/lounge setup between 2 rinks!), but after the mess of errors I spotted on the 11th (game 5 on the link and the links posted there), I really have to wonder about their updater(s) - thinking that maybe he/she/they neglected Inglis on the game sheet.

In his long WHL career between Saskatoon, Prince George, Red Deer and Kamloops he totaled in the regular season, 290GP 92G 85A 177Pts a -23 +/- and 440PIM. Also in the playoffs in 2009-11 for Saskatoon (09-10) & Prince George (2011) he played 20GP with 3G 1A 4Pts a -2 +/- and 12PIM. That was capped off by his 2010-11 season where he scored the above mentioned 60 points in 69gms for Prince George.

Kind of surprising he didn't get traded to/picked up by another WHL team with his WHL scoring history, but I guess in the end of it, the Wolverines gave him 'an offer he couldn't refuse' to join them for at least the time being.
- - - - -
As some keen observers may also notice from above screenshot of Wolverines roster on game sheet from December 21st, LW #17 Jacques Bernier was again recalled from CAC Edmonton Canadians Midget AAA (AMHL) to play. He could very well have been back with the CAC team for game(s) yesterday (Saturday) & today (Sunday)... but I am definitely not checking that until... well, you'll find out next post.
- - - - -
Also, changes for the Wolverines, after trading away then captain C #16 Jamie Johnson, as listed in this tweet by the Wolverines on the 14th:
New captain is C #19 Jerome Raymond, and LD/C #25 Mathieu Gagnon & D #6 Dalton Olsen take over as A's with a 3rd to be named later. RW #9 Brady Goebel was wearing an A earlier in the season as well as I previously had listed on EP, but as he's also been dealt, obviously he wont become a new 3rd A.

And that's all for this longer-than-intended post.

My AJHL Dec 21 & 22 posts to be combined

Hey there loyal viewers - my apologies for the backup and such of late, but due to illness (or and I'm just going to be combining the total moves/changes/scores/games from the last 2 nights - tonight & last night. Hopefully I can manage this all - haven't been 'sick' today, but slept into the late afternoon and am definitely not 100%.

More to come though boys and girl!

AJHL scores & changes - Dec 20th

Sorry about this one being so held up... still not feeling the best, and been busy and super distracted today besides that.

Anyways though... scores from last night:
  1. Eagles beat Olds 4-2 in Canmore. Eagles appear back from near death after that 13 game losing streak, and playing great with the 3-0 shutout over the Storm 2 nights ago, then this victory - outshooting Olds 31-20 in the game too. A load of penalties in the game, but no one with over 17 PIM and no one with over 2 points.
  2. Fort McMurray beat Dragons 1-0 in a shootout in Drumheller. Besides a marginal lead in shots by the MOB in the 3rd, the Dragons outshot 35-14 in the other 3 periods (including OT) - probably deserved a better fate. MOB G #30 Ethan Wood with the complete shutout, and Drumheller G #31 Adam Beukeboom with the regulation shutout (though listed with a T on the game sheet as they list OTLs like that on the Esportsdesk sites).
  3. Calgary Mustangs beat Calgary Canucks 7-3 at their home arena Father David Bauer Arena in NW Calgary. A very dominant game by the Mustangs who outshot 54-27. Three Mustangs with 3 or more points - RW #27 Chase McMurphy with 4 points (1G, 3A), and 3 points each for LD #28 Austin Frank (1G, 2A) & RD #20 Stefan Virtanen (3A).
Changes:
Olds:
*LW #17 Chase Paylor, now listed out indefinitely with a lower body injury backdated to... I assume Dec 14th. The date on the 'red cross' there is listed as 12-Dec-14, kind of backwards, but whatever works hey.
*D/LW #26 Chaydan Lauber went back to Southeast Hounds Minor Midget AAA (AMMHL) for game Sunday.

Fort McMurray:
*#-less G Robert Gillard, now added to MOB reserve roster, from Fort McMurray Barons Midget AA (NAMHL).

Drumheller:
*G #31 Garrett Storms was backup for the Dragons on the 15th, back with KC Colts Midget AA (NAMHL) on the 16th, back up with Dragons for 18th & 20th; and will all but be back down with the KC Colts for a game tomorrow night (but I am way too tired now to wait for the slow net, to post it as a rumour onto EP).
*RW #24 Tristan Reimer, switched from #29 recently.
*Correction on my last post - it appears LD #2 Shayne Gwinner was taken off the game sheet for that game last night - so is still in the dub. I'm just about 100% certain I saw him on the game sheet when I checked them on my cell last night, but of course don't believe I even can screenshot on the cell.

Calgary Canucks:
*RD #6 Deryk Sutherland (yes I know he's listed as "Dyrek" on the AJHL profile - not my doing/mistake) & D #34 Zach Dietrich & RW #35 Justin Peers, were down with the Calgary Northstars Midget AAA (AMHL) on the 19th, then the first 2 (no Peers) back up with the Canucks for last night's game.
*RD/F #40 Erik Kardash, played last night - up from Calgary Flames Midget AAA (AMHL).
*RD #7 Owen Johnson, played last night also, up from Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL).

Pre-game changes: GP vs Okotoks - Dec 21st:
Grande Prairie:
*LW/C #29 Mike Forsyth suspended 2 games for check from behind on Canmore RD #4 John Stevens, on Wednesday night - though he currently is erroneously listed on game sheet for tonight (Forsyth's listing was eventually removed):
*Also not listed on the above game sheet and (Later was added to game sheet with #26 ) more or less in the lineup for Forsyth, is W #21 Dylan Thudium's younger brother C/RW #26 Chase Thudium. No idea what # he is wearing, but Jeff's mentioned him numerous times, and just said seconds ago "2 Thudium brothers playing tonight. Chase called up from Red Deer" [Chiefs Midget AAA] (AMHL). Lots of errors from the Okotoks stats updater(s) of late as I got into on Dec 18th post, but at least these have been fixed up now. Hopefully these ones will be fixed up soon...

Okotoks:
*LD #3 Kyle Krabben who I had listed on EP as "Upper body injury (originally backdated to Nov 26th, but not removed from AJHL listing when returned Dec 11th, though did not play again Dec 18th), status uncertain" - is also still listed as injured currently on AJ Okotoks stats/roster, but is playing in tonight's game vs GP.
*RD #4 Jordan Swenson, out til 'late Jan to early Feb' with lower body injury, according to Gino De Paoli interview with Jeff Henson in one of the intermissions tonight.
*Also as I just found out from Gino's twitter, LD #18 Max Mowat is off the Oilers roster.

Sorry to say, but this will be all until I get more sleep... this flu, or whatever the heck it really is, is beating on me pretty good!

Tonight's post will be delayed

Hey everyone - sorry about this, but tonight's post will be delayed as I am dead tired, and really under the weather - put it this way, I threw up four times not long ago.

Offhand, I remember Sandboe played again tonight for Canmore, from Grande Prairie Storm Midget AAA (AMHL) which kind of ends my [joking] theory about them only playing him against his hometown Jr A team... haha! Along with him Ayearst was their backup again. Shayne Gwinner was back with the Dragons from the WHL, and new guy Erik Kardash from Calgary was up in that 'battle of Calgary' tonight, I beleive with the injury plagued Canucks.

More after some needed rest!

AJHL score & changes - Dec 19th

Only one game tonight, and I'm getting to it about 3 hours after it ended... haha... oh well, better late than badly late like yesterday's... haha!

Anyways, lone score from tonight:

Eagles beat Grande Prairie 3-0 in Canmore. If this game was played in the 1st and 3rd alone, it would have been a very close 1-0 win for Canmore with the shots tied at 19... then you have to see why I omitted the second... it was about as one-sided as anything I've seen in a while (that 13-1 Bandits win over the Canucks not long ago, rings bells for me)... 26-8, yes 26 shots for the Eagles - some teams get that in an entire game! A person would never know the Eagles were on a 13 game losing streak up til this win.

Changes - I was going to do a pre-game one of what was spoke of, but it's 3 hours post game now... what'd be the point to not merge these two hey.

Grande Prairie:
*C #7 Sam Lawson returned to the Storm lineup from concussion
*LD #6 Allan MacPherson's Calgary Flames Midget AAA (AMHL) team, is off til the weekend - so I still consider him on roster - without proof of move, even though he all but went back to Calgary for high school.

Canmore:
*LW/D #7 (formerly #3) Colton Sandboe played for the Eagles, up from Grande Prairie Storm Midget AAA (AMHL). Last and only time he was up previously, just so happened to be against the Storm in GP on Nov 17th - kind of strange... maybe Canmore thinks he'll play best against his hometown team? Hehe... nah, probably just the way the calendar worked out. Also a strange coincidence - the score also so happened to be a 3-0 shutout, except the other way for the Storm.
*G #39 Forrest Ayearst again was backup tonight, again supporting my theory that after the delisting by Cochrane (HJHL) he ended up going back home to Canmore and now has almost become a utility player/emergency backup.
*RW #7 Chance Thomas surprisingly wasn't in the lineup for KC Colts Midget AA (NAMHL), so to me he's still with Canmore.
*C #28 Alexander Bechtold returned to the lineup after missing all but I believe the first game of the season, as he was out indefinitely after suffering a broken ankle Sept 8th.
*Other G #39 James Fisk, is back with Airdrie Thunder (HJHL - Jr B) and got a loss on Sunday.

AJHL scores & changes - Dec 18th

Sorry about the holdup getting this fully complete until now... ended up getting tired suddenly and gradually faster last night, and been busy with other things most of the day, including shoveling out my Grandma's entire about 5 car capacity driveway, and large deck at -25 earlier... haha! Face was pretty warm for the next 30-60mins but oh well... haha! Anyways, though...

Scores:
  1. Bandits beat Okotoks 4-2 in Brooks. Wow, what an effort by the Oilers in the 3rd. Brooks outshot marginally in the 1st and 2nd but the Oilers launched a 15-4 3rd period attack... just not enough to be the mighty Bandits though. Bandits G #30 (started with #30, then #33, then back to #30 lately, according to notes I had on his EP profile) Devon Fordyce earned home star probably for that 14/15 save 3rd period alone.
  2. GP Storm beat Canucks 5-2 at Max Bell Centre not far south into SE Calgary (I think I'm almost certain I may have unintentionally said it was in the NE before on the blog here... it's so close to the NE divider road after all... haha!). Was a first 2 periods that seemed dominated by the Storm, but the 3rd period almost a full on attack from the Canucks (17-9 shots), but they just couldn't buy a goal.
  3. Drumheller beat the Mustangs 2-1 at Father David Bauer Arena in NW Calgary. A close 2-1 game that the Mustangs dominated the first and the Dragons took the game over in the 2nd and 3rd. I personally noticed well what happened at 2:16 in the 3rd:
    PERIOD 3
Calgary Mustangs at 2:16 - Jared Van Ree for Fighting (5 Min.)
Calgary Mustangs at 2:16 - Blair Wentworth for Roughing (5 Min.)
Drumheller Dragons at 2:16 - Tristan Reimer for Fighting (5 Min.)
Calgary Mustangs at 2:16 - Chase McMurphy for Roughing (2 Min.)
Calgary Mustangs at 2:16 - Blair Wentworth for Boarding (2 Min.)
Calgary Mustangs at 2:16 - Jared Van Ree for Roughing (2 Min.)
Drumheller Dragons at 2:16 - Adam Danyluk for Boarding (2 Min.)
Drumheller Dragons at 2:16 - Adam Danyluk for Roughing (2 Min.)
Drumheller Dragons at 2:16 - Tristan Reimer for Roughing (2 Min.)
  4. Camrose beat Grizzlys 8-5 in Olds. Whoa... a track meet there alright! 4-2 Olds after 2 until Camrose totally caught fire, scoring 5 unanswered in the period, the last being an empty netter... lots of 3+ point players likely here... holy heck, before I get to that though - both teams were over 40% on the PP, Camrose scoring 5 times! AJHL rookie scoring leader, Kodiaks C #15 Tanner MacMaster with 5 points (3G, 2A) to definitely pad that lead, teammate RW #12 Brett Njaa (I always say to myself 'Ninja', even though have heard it said Nee-ya... hehe!) with 3 points (1G, 2A), and Olds' F #9 Dylan Hubbs also with 3 points (1G, 2A).

Changes:
Okotoks:
*Not a change, but C #12 Chris Collins still listed as suspended on AJHL Okotoks stats/roster listing, but he was only out from 12th-18th for a 1 game suspension and played last night against Brooks.
*Though still listed as injured on AJHL Okotoks stats/roster, Oilers LW #22 Colton Sheen played last night, for the first time in exactly one month.
*Okay... the Oilers AJ listing is getting really confusing to keep track of... okay so LD #3 Kyle Krabben was out of the lineup backdated to Nov 26th with an upper body injury, the he played Dec 11th, 13th and 15th with the injury still listed as active on the AJ stats listing, now didn't play last night, with the same previous injury still listed... uh... okay, unless someone tells me otherwise I'll consider him re-injured. So to try and logically make sense of this one... "Upper body injury (originally backdated to Nov 26th, but not removed from AJHL listing when returned Dec 11th, though did not play again Dec 18th), status uncertain" - onto EP. Think it might be worth asking Gino De Paoli about this one as well...
*LW #20 Sheldon Rempal is listed on Oilers active AJ stats/roster, but was back with the Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAAs (AMHL) for game Sunday.
*Hmm, not a change, but beginning to wonder if rookie C #25 Tanner Ockey is possibly signed to play with the Oilers for the rest of the season and/or injured. He hasn't been checked on any Calgary Royals Midget AAA (AMHL) game sheets since he first reappeared on the Oilers AJ active stats/roster. I'd link the AMHL sheets in, but nah... already closed them all - you guys reading can look if you want to see that proof (pending it doesn't get edited in later, of course.. haha!). Oh yeah, to add to the 'possibly signed for rest of season' theory/idea - he's also not listed as an AP on the AJ Oilers stats/roster currently.

Brooks:
*AP/reserve LD #25 Brett Schimmelplayed last night against Okotoks, from Southeast Tigers Midget AAA (AMHL - Medicine Hat) though he's 'from from' Brooks.
*C #25 Landon Welykholowa & LW #16 Ben Assad, have been back with Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL) since Sunday game.

Grande Prairie - listed on pre-game notes post last night.

Calgary Canucks - listed on pre-game notes post last night.
*Two move I didn't get to last night, RW #24 Alexander Mowbray & RD #7 Own Johnson went back to Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL) for Sunday game.

Drumheller:
*G Adam Beukeboom was #31, but now is listed with #35 - the same # he wore in his WHL time.

Camrose - Kind of a 'caught me by surprise', but 3 APs listed on reserve prior, played last night (they had maybe 1 or 2 all season til now):
*LW #22 Nick Harder, up from Sherwood Park Kinds Midget AAA (AMHL).
*C #27 Taylor Allan, up from Calgary Royals Midget AAA (AMHL).
*RD #5 Quinn Brown, up from Red Deer Chiefs Midget AAA (AMHL)

Olds:
*#-less RW/C Brendon Benson, now listed/AP/on reserve. Currently with Lethbridge Pronghorns Midget AAA (AMHL).
*F/RD #42 Austin Kernahan, now listed as out indefinitely with lower body injury, backdated to Dec 11th.

And finally... I'm done with yesterday's games!

Storm vs CGY Canucks pre-game notes (post game) - Dec 18th

So yeah, started typing this before the game, but got busy here and never got to finishing it until now.

Anyways though... GP Storm finally have an affiliate skater in the lineup, for tonight - per Jeff Henson on the Storm pre-game broadcast. The kid's name is Allan MacPherson from Calgary, a D-man who wore #6 tonight. He's from the Calgary Flames Midget AAA program (AMHL), and from what Jeff and Blaine Bablitz (coach) said on pre-game interviews, it sounds like he's a hopeful long term Storm player for the staff. I was thoroughly impressed by the Canucks' updater too - they had an AJHL profile as early as game time as well - as it was up on the Storm reserve (as an AP, I can totally understand why the updaters keep these players listed on reserves when they're up/playing briefly) when I got around to checking for it into the 1st. Also, Storm C #9 Sam Lawson said to possibly play in one or more of the next 3 games in 4 nights for the the Storm.

Also Storm news coming... a player I know personally on Twitter and in person, whom a buddy of mine said he heard supposedly 'left the team and went back home', well he turns out to really be on the move. He's confirmed to me that a trade is coming in the next few days, but not sure where as of yet.

As for the Canucks, 3 APs tonight in the lineup - RD #6 Deryk Sutherland, D #34 Zach Dietrich & RW #35 Justin Peers (all 3 from the Calgary Northstars Midget AAA teams as show playing in the team's last game here). Besides that, they also added an AP/listed/reserve G, #-less Curtis Bowman, who's currently playing with CRAA Gold Midget AA in the Hockey Calgary Midget AA league (HCMAA, on EP). Also with what Jeff said about the Canucks, LD #28 Gianni Mangone now listed on EP as "December 19th back surgery (officially listed as 'hip/back injury'), out indefinitely but could return as soon as February - March"

The rest, finally, to come...

Oh yeah, incase I forget later - as I already forgot to on the last post... Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and all that good stuff - to all you seeing this!

Unintentional day off - Dec 17th

So this is the first and could possibility be the only, non-hockey related blog post I'll post this hockey season (yeah, I know it's Xmas holidays soon, but knowing me I'll be a workaholic all 'break' along with possibly updating some WJC stats), but here goes...

I was up super late as usual yesterday morning, think it was around 6am when I fully finished with the AJHL and around 9-9:30am when I went to sleep shortly after a so-called 'supper' and got a couple hours sleep before my Grandma came in for some errands of ours, an appointment of mine, and at just about the last minute I changed my mind to head up for Xmas holidays earlier... instead of Thursday night. So besides part of Thursday, I'll be out of Grande Prairie, for the first time since moving back at the end of August, until around January 3rd or so. Storm are off at home until the 4th now, and I've got nothing really keeping me in GP after Thursday - so why not hey!

So yeah... would have got something else done for EP last night, but between getting progressively tired all day, I was badly distracted by my Grandma's new kitten... haha! I've been jokingly referring to him as a 'cyborg cat' as he has some bizarrely unique qualities for a cat. Complete hellian though, but he is a kitten after all... just a few months old. I was going to add in some randoms pics, but keep having connection problems for sending emails from here for some reason - texts work, FB & Twitter work, emails wont... kind of in a 'black hole' here between signals though... haha! Most cell phones don't work in this house at all for some reason as well. Oh wait, there is another way to do it as I posted 3 pics onto FB earlier, and one just now.

Anyways, today got kind of butchered for progress as well, but hopefully now I can focus and get stuff done. Only half an hour til the broadcast of the Storm game tonight, and 15 more minutes til it and 2 of the 4 games tonight get started. GP Storm at Max Bell Centre vs Calgary Canucks, has begun. Pre-game info coming soon.

AJHL scores & changes - Dec 16th

Well, I'm partly starting this earlier than usual, but considering the last game ended at around 9:30pm, I'm 2 hours late in starting. Last night's chaos killed a many hours on my end, which led to me getting yesterday's AJHL updates done super late, which well... went from there to produce a very buggered up Sunday for me.

Anyways though, onto the games...

Scores:

  1. Whitecourt beat the Bobcats 5-2 in Lloydminster. Lots of penalties in this one... AJHL PIM leader Whitecourt LD/C #25 Mathieu Gagnon continued to pad to his lead with 30 mins more. I'm continuously impressed with the attendance figures from Lloyd and places like Camrose - per capita, they really come out in droves to support their teams! Especially in Lloyd with the rough season they're having and that near-move the last few seasons.
  2. Crusaders beat Canmore 5-1 in Sherwood Park. Canmore really put up a battle for this one, but score wise it'd be overlooked; 42-28 shots for Canmore. Cru C #20 Bowen Croft with 2G, 1A - and granted a great game, but I personally have to wonder if their G for the night #31 Matt Tomkins might have got shafted for home star - stopped 41 of 42 in the game.
  3. Drayton Valley beat the Pontiacs 1-0 in OT in Bonnyville. Wow, real goalie battle there - I don't even have to say it, but a very close game. In the shot department it appear DV barely showed in the first 2 periods with only 5 shots combined (both teams only had a 5-2 BON edge in shots in the 2nd) - granted they were shorthanded 3 times in the first; but they came alive when it really mattered, in the 3rd and OT. Drayton rookie C #19 Brayden Harris, with the winner.

Changes:
Whitecourt:
*Not a true change, but yes RD/F #9 Michael Claffey & LD #4 Landon Hall are playing after their signings/acquisitions, but are still listed on Wolverines reserves for some reason. Claffey I can see, as he is listed as an AP - but as for Hall, I have absolutely no clue why. Both players even had points tonight as well, with Claffey picking up 2A and 8PIM and Hall collecting an assist.
*LW #17 Jacques Bernier, was back with CAC Edmonton Canadians Midget AAA (AMHL) for the start of a road trip in Lethbridge yesterday.

Lloydminster:
*C #19 Ryley Wozniak, though still listed on the Bobcats AJHL stats/roster as active, was back in the lineup for the St. Paul Canadiens (NEAJBHL) Friday night.

Canmore:
*Not a change, but RW #7 Chance Thomas played again for Canmore, though listed on their reserve roster. Ouch... was pretty sure of it, but just confirmed - Canmore played games Friday, Saturday & Sunday... ouch! Gotta love the somewhat sometimes crazy AJHL schedule... I personally like/hate how uneven the schedule is - it seems the Storm, for example, seemingly have been have had at least 3 games in hand on every team in the North most of the season:
(And with this, I already included the standings in this post, but will update injuries later as well... haha!)
*G #39 Forrest Ayearst, who's from Canmore, was back as the backup again last night. This kind of backs up my theory that he likely went back home to Canmore after either quitting or being released by Cochrane (HJHL). As he hasn't been showing on any other junior/senior rosters anywhere else to my knowledge, this is why I've just kept him on the Canmore active status since his delisting from Cochrane. As for other G #39 of Canmore's James Fisk - his HJHL team, Airdrie Thunder, played this (Sunday) afternoon, but as of yet (1:14am local currently) the HJHL hasn't added in the game sheet from their game in Okotoks against the Bisons, so could very well have played/dressed there and 'officially' be back with Airdrie. It's definitely not something that only happens with the HJHL - a few teams' updaters (not naming names, nicely - as hey, it could be a # of reasons/factors for it) up here in the NWJHL do that as well - don't update some game sheets to the league stats site until the following day. hehe!
*G #35 Ty Swabb - injury update: not sure if I just badly miscalculated his estimated return date for his '6 week lower body injury' (currently would have been Dec 9th from day injury was dated to, according to the 'red cross' on him, on the Canmore AJHL stats/roster), or if it was updater by Canmore updater(s) and I possibly missed it - but regardless, according to what's there now he's now overdue in returning, by nearly a week... yikes! No wonder there's been that 'revolving door' backup goalie setup for Ayearst & Fisk. So yeah, changed Swabb injury listing on EP currently to "Lower body injury, status uncertain (was expected back by December 9th)".

Sherwood Park:
*LD #26 Tyler Dea recalled again from St. Albert Raiders Midget AAA (AMHL) and played yesterday.
*RD #25 Nick Charif, back down with SSAC Athletics Midget AAA (AMHL) and played with them yesterday.
*Captain F #19 Eric Liknes (if anyone reading knows his primary F position(s), drop me a message) now listed with a 2-3 week lower body injury dated to the 14th/Friday, joining D #44 Cody Bardock who I have listed on EP as "Lower body injury, status uncertain (was to be back by November 25th)" - another overdue injury return.... yikes!

Drayton Valley:
*RW #14 Braden Jakubowski, back playing with Leduc Oil Kings Midget AAA (AMHL) as of game yesterday.

Bonnyville:
*Not a change, but former Pontiac and current NEAJBHL leading scorer C #7 Dallas Ansell stays with the club to play a 2nd straight game (listed on reserve still, and not listed as an AP kind of strangely, but it could have just been neglected or accidentally left out). The main reason I mention him, is the fact that the Bonnyville updater lists him as an "RC" yet a left handed shot... which kind of makes me wonder. As far as I knew in the past RC and LC as positions stood for 'right handed or left handed' shots - as there obviously aren't players that just selectively take faceoffs on the right or left side of the ice (who would take them at centre, then? Haha!). But if this RC/LC deal stands for something else as well - please comment and let me know. Otherwise, it seems the updater might have just made a very simple, tiny, precise error - nothing major though.

*Regarding the AMHL schedule links I post in - I've been having this gut feeling with how they're listed, that all these 2012-13 links I hyperlink in, wont be active/correct for next season... but they're accurate as of now. Just a note for if someone was to come back next season and look at any of them - but chances are by that time if it happens, they'll see a post I didn't post this on anyways... haha! Oh well, cant say I didn't try... haha!

But, as for this post - all done! Like 8 hours earlier than Saturday's games... haha!

- - - - -

Edit - league wide injury check update - others known that I came across:
*Brooks D # 22 Maddison Smiley injury now confirmed by Brooks updater(s). He's now listed as out with an upper body for 6-8 weeks, but I've listed it on EP as "Upper body (likely shoulder) injury, expected back January 22nd - February 5th".
*Brooks LW #14 Nick Newman, also now added to the injury list. A backdated injury to Dec 1st listed as a 4-6 weeks upper body one. My EP listing of it: "Upper body injury, expected back December 29th - January 12th".
*Not a change that I know of, but Brooks LW #9 Mark Logan listed as out for 6-8 weeks with lower body injury. I'm pretty sure the expected time frame expired before I started listing injuries differently (with expected return dates in brackets like this, if not back by that date), so this is just a change to my data/EP injury listing on Logan. Changed from "Lower body injury, out indefinitely" to "Lower body injury, status uncertain (was expected back November 12th-26th)".
*Grande Prairie Storm captain RW #15 Taylor Cote, confirmed to me in person at the Grande Prairie Kings  (NWJHL) game Saturday night, that he's out until at least the January games. I believe he said he wasn't even going on the 4 game (in 5 days) pre-Xmas southern road trip.. not good!
*Okotoks LD #18 Max Mowat, I believe was injured briefly (? - might have been another Oiler player, not going to worry about sifting through old blog posts now), but is now listed as out with upper body injury for 4-6 weeks as of Dec 13th... which to me means "Upper body injury, expected back January 10th-24th".

Current known # of active injury casualties, by team (whether listed by AJHL team updater or not, listed in brackets like this is) - complete list here, with our still out-of-date AJHL map...:

North Division:
*Bonnyville - 3 known (3 listed) - though offhand, reservist RW #12 Christian Nypower also hurt (but down with Cold Lake - NEAJBHL)
*Drayton Valley - 1 known, by radio source (0 listed)
*Fort McMurray - 5 known (5 listed) - all are overdue... a hurtin' case for the MOB!
*Grande Prairie - 4 known (0 listed), but still yet to dress an AP skater (one of the few, if not only, team in the league with that 'honour' as of yet) - all known either personally or from close trusted sources
*Lloydminster - 0 known (0 listed)
*Sherwood Park - 2 known (2 listed)
*Spruce Grove - 3 known (3 listed)
*Whitecourt - 0 known (0 listed)
South Division:
*Brooks - 3 known (3 listed)
*Calgary Canucks - 8 known (8 listed) - ouch!
*Calgary Mustangs - 0 known (0 listed)
*Camrose - 0 known (0 listed)
*Canmore - 6 known (6 listed) - another ouch!
*Drumheller - 0 known (0 listed)
*Okotoks - 3 out (4 listed) - complicated one there. Okay, Sheen & Swenson are definitely out. Krabben is still listed as hurt but has played the last 2 games. Mowat - I believe was out and came back to play on the 13th (it mighta been a different player, not 100% here), only to get reinjured/hurt again (I believe?). I'm pretty sure the old injury (if it indeed was him) stayed during the game he played, and the data has since then just been added/updated - now that I click his 'red cross' (info above with rest of changes/injuries).
*Olds - 0 known (0 listed)

And that's all for AJHL work for til likely Tuesday night, with today (Monday) off.

AJHL scores & changes - Dec 15th

Really late getting this done up, due to that mess from earlier...

Scores:
  1. Saints beat Canmore 6-1 in Spruce Grove. Holy heck... I've got to wonder... what happened to the Eagles that started the season so well... total tailspin since around the Showcase. Saints outshot by a 2-1 margin. C #9 Dylan Richard with 3G, 1A and RD #6 Dustin Fostvelt with 4A.
  2. Drumheller beat Oilers 6-2 in Okotoks. Wow, from the game sheet it looked closer than it was. Shots were close, but the Dragons laid a bit of a whopping by score, in a very balanced attack - no one with  even 3 points.
  3. Bandits beat Olds 4-1 in Brooks. As usual, the Bandits keep winning - on pace for only 1 more loss, if even any at this rate. They outshot by almost double, but not a blowout by any means. C #21 Anthony Paskaruk with 2G, 1A.
  4. Pontiacs beat Whitecourt 3-2 in a shootout in Bonnyville. Wow, Pontiacs laid waste of the Wolverines in shots... a crazy 56-31 and all (but a 4-1 OT for Whitecourt) were in regulation and heavily favouring the Pontiacs. I can definitely see why G #1 Jared Rathjen was road star - probably would have not even been close without him stopping as well as he did.
  5. Kodiaks beat Calgary Canucks 3-1 in Camrose. A fairly close game overall, but the slight edge in shots, and ultimately goals, went to the Canucks. Low # of penalties and a close low scoring game.
  6. Oil Barons beat Drayton valley 4-3 in a shootout in Fort McMurray. Wow, by the sheet - this was the closest game of the night by far! The MOB came out with the lead, and fought back in the 3rd to tie it. DV C #21 Eric Sieben 1G, 2A and relatively new MOB RW #8 Hayden Dawes with 3A.

Changes/moves:
Canmore:
*RW #7 Chance Thomas, recalled and played for Canmore Eagles tonight. Up from KC Colts Midget AA in NAMHL (N. AB Mdgt AA). Has been listed/reserve/AP since start of season, which I backdated in too.
*G #39 James Fisk - recalled & played tonight also. Back up from Airdrie Thunder (HJHL).

Spruce Grove:
*RD #4 (was #25) Graydon Smith, played last night, up from Leduc Oil Kings Midget AAA (AMHL).
*Also #4 (SG likes to recycle jersey #s.. hehe - but all levels seem to do it... New Jersey, probably the most infamous NHL team to do it - it was a serious pain in the arse when I used to update video game rosters back in the day, just to not have two wearing the same #!) RD Clayton Kirichenko, back with Sherwood Park Kings Midget AAA (AMHL) last night.

Drumheller - no known changes

Okotoks:
*C #12 Chris Collins - suspended for the game for a "Junior A Supplement" (which is good to see - the 2nd suspension of the season I remember that was listed on the AJHL stats/roster, with the suspension list almost always being out of date). I only mention it mainly, as the Okotoks updater was nice enough to add it on the AJHL's Okotoks roster/stats - nice! That, and it's a known reason why he missed the game.
*LW #20 Sheldon Rempal, played - up from Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL).

Olds:
*Newly listed/reserved/added D/LW #6 Chaydan Lauber, is up and played last night, from Southeast Tigers Midget AAA (Medicine Hat, AMHL).

Whitecourt:
*Newly acquired D Landon Hall, played last night wearing #4. Why he and RD/F #9 Michael Claffey are listed on the Whitecourt reserve roster on the AJHL stats/roster and not the main/active one, while playing even while being listed on that press release, is beyond me.

Bonnyville:
*Former Pontiac and current NEAJBHL (NE AB, Jr B) leading scorer by a fair margin (with 48pts in 19 games right now), C Dallas Ansell, now back up with the Pontiacs wearing #7 and played last night. He's also listed on the reserve - but it makes more sense as he's probably only a reserve/AP as a 20 year old but only time will tell. With #s like he has, I could definitely see him getting another Jr A shot though! I added in a backdated move for the fact he was listed since the start of the season on reserve.
*RD #7 Owen Johnson has been added/recalled from Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAA (AMHL), and played last night.
*RW #24 Alexander Mowbray played last night as well, up from the Calgary Buffaloes Midget AAAs (AMHL) also.
*D #4 Jeffrey Wildeman, now listed with a week long concussion, backdated for the 11th, and should be back by that expectation as of the 18th (Tuesday).

Drayton Valley:
*RD/F #5 Joel Webb - back with MLAC Maple Leafs Midget AAA for game yesterday (even though still listed on active DV AJHL stats/roster).
*D/F #2 Jordan Thomas - back with CAC Edmonton Canadians Midget AAA for game last night.
